In January 2017, I was fortunate to attend IMATS LA 2017.

I took this picture from my Instagram. Here's my haul. I already reviewed MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour in Burnt Spice (middle left). For this post, I will review the liquid lipstick from Tarte.

Thoughts: I'm a huge fan of liquid lipsticks and I'm sure you can tell from my blog. So when Tarte came out with the Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint, I knew I had to get one. I wasn't too sure when until I went to IMATS. While I swatch few of the liquid lipsticks, nothing drew me in until one makeup artist told me what she was wearing. She also recommend the color to me. I gave in and got the color she recommended.
Here's a closer look at the color. The website describes it as "rosy nude." I don't know if I totally agree but it's definitely on the nude side.
Here's a closer look at the applicator. It's a typical applicator in the sense it's slanted on one side of the tip. With that said, it's slightly different in the sense the slanted tip is curved.
Here's a swatch of the lip color on my hand.
Here's how the liquid lipstick looks on me.
Here's an overall look on me. I have Skinn Cosmetics Don't Budge Waterproof Cream Eyeshadows in Non-Matte on the eyes.

Now for my overall opinion... First of all, there's a slight scent while applying. It's so light that I cannot distinguish the smell. I just sniffed the product and it smells exactly like how I applied it. Basically, the scent is hardly noticeable but you feel a slight scent of freshness. Secondly, the packaging is alright. I would like it more if it has a different top. It reminds me of NARS packaging with that velvet material. With time, it becomes sticky and hard to touch. I hope this doesn't become like that. I don't know why brands think we like this type of packaging. Okay, it might just be me. I cannot say it's well-made but it's definitely sturdy. The top is also sturdy. I can feel a tight squeeze when I open and close the top. I cannot see it open or break unless you are rough with the packaging. For that reason, it's travel-friendly. The doe foot applicator is nice too. The tip makes it easy to outline the lips and the slanted curve helps fill the remaining. Third, the consistency is on the liquidity side. It's a typical liquid lipstick where it's extremely light while applying. It goes on easily and does not tug on the lips. It also dries quickly. I would say within seconds. Once it's dried, it's transfer-proof. With all liquid lipsticks, it adheres to the lips and that includes in-between the lines. Depending on the brand and type, some only show fine lines whereas others show both fine and thick lines. I don't like my thick lines but I don't mind the fine. Thankfully, this only shows the fine lines. Fourth, the color is pretty. It's definitely not what I expected. I remember it looked darker like a rose color on the makeup artist. It also looks darker on the model from the website. For some reason, it's lighter more on the peachy-pink nude side on me. That's why I don't think it's looks like a rosy nude. I can see myself wearing this all year round as an everyday color, but more so for spring/summer season. Pigmented-wise I thought it was okay. It's not the most pigmented but I don't need to layer colors for it to show. Lastly, it lasted until I ate. The grease from the food loosens the texture in the center of the lips. It's extremely comfortable and not drying at all. I did not see any white residue in the center of the lips. With that said, I definitely do not regret getting this. It's not the color I expected but I actually like it. I read reviews on the website and it said depending on the color, the quality is different. Some like Rose is better than other colors from this same line. I highly recommend reading the reviews before purchasing.

* Study top.
* Travel-friendly.
